Sauce.ai (Pty) Ltd(“Sauce”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Sauce.ai marketing platform. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, platform, and all related services.
We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).
1. Information we collect
Account and contact information
When you sign up or contact us we collect your name, email address, job title, and company name.
Brand profile data
To generate on-brand content, Sauce stores the brand information you provide: brand name, voice guidelines, tone preferences, target audience descriptions, uploaded logos, and any sample content you supply. This data is the core of your Brand Memory and is stored on a per-account basis.
Content you create
Campaign briefs, captions, strategy documents, schedules, and other outputs generated or saved inside the platform are stored under your account and accessible only to you and users you authorise.
Usage and technical data
We collect information about how you interact with the platform — features used, pages visited, session duration, browser type, device type, and IP address. This is used for product improvement and security monitoring.
Payment information
Billing is processed by Stripe. We receive a billing reference and last-four card digits; we never store full card numbers or CVV codes.
2. How we use your information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your brand data or generated content to train AI models for the benefit of other customers.
3. AI processing
Sauce uses AI models to generate marketing content. When you request a generation, relevant portions of your brand profile and any instructions you provide are sent to AI processing services. This data is transmitted securely, used only to fulfil your request, and is not retained by those services to train future models under our agreements with them.
AI-generated content is not reviewed by Sauce staff. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all outputs before publishing.
4. Sharing your information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers — AI processing providers, cloud infrastructure (to host and operate the platform), Stripe (payments), email delivery providers. These parties process data only under our instructions.
- Team members you authorise — if you invite colleagues to your Sauce workspace, they can access the content you share with them.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Sauce, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — if Sauce is acquired or merges, your data may transfer to the acquiring entity, which will be bound by this policy.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (typically up to 7 years for billing records).
Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for product analytics.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
